Uzbekistan has made a big claim that as many as 18 children have died in the country after allegedly consuming Indian-made cough syrup. India has started investigation after Uzbekistan’s allegation. The production of cough syrup and tablets has been stopped at Marion Biotech’s Noida unit till the samples are tested. According to media reports, these 18 children died in Samarkand city of Uzbekistan. It is being told that ‘Marion Biotech Pvt Ltd’ was registered in Uzbekistan in the year-2012, and the sale of this cough syrup started there from the same year. (Uzbekistan Cough Syrup Death Case)

Now the investigation of Noida based company ‘Merion Biotech’ has started. This company is located in Sector 67, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Following the instructions of the Central Drugs Regulatory, now the officials of the Drugs Department of UP reached the Noida based company and took samples of DOK-1, Max tablets and syrup and tablets and sent them to the lab for testing.
